“To succeed at war you have to become effective at killing your opponent. Airplanes did that.”

~ Christopher Browne, Top Gun Graduate and Smithsonian Director

The entire idea of war has been changed by the effects of the Wright Military Flyer. War was traditionally fought on land and sea and the air was an entirely new dimension. The world’s great powers invest billions of dollars and significant intellectual capital to achieve air superiority, and the competition is intense. In the decades ahead, new frontiers of aviation will be identified and conquered. The nations with focused determination, talent and willingness to innovate will be the winners.

The Wright brothers' spirit of endurance and innovation continues.

"The technology just keeps right on, getting better and better. Every time a new aircraft comes out. So it has a significant impact."
~ Lloyd "Fig" Newton, 4 Star General and Aviator
